योग्यता में छूट
- विकल्प A में राष्ट्रीय / राज्य स्तरीय पात्रता परीक्षा से छूट: विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग के एम.फिल./पीएच.डी. उपाधि संबंधी 2009 या 2016 के विनियमों तथा समय-समय पर उनके संशोधनों के अनुसार प्राप्त पीएच.डी. पर अधिसूचना के अनुसार छूट लागू है। जिस विषय के स्नातकोत्तर कार्यक्रम के लिए संबंधित एजेंसियाँ राष्ट्रीय / राज्य स्तरीय पात्रता परीक्षा आयोजित ही नहीं करतीं, उस विषय में भी यह परीक्षा आवश्यक नहीं है।
- 11-07-2009 से पहले पीएच.डी. में पंजीकृत अभ्यर्थियों को परीक्षा से छूट के लिए सभी शर्तें पूरी करनी होंगी: नियमित माध्यम से पीएच.डी.; कम से कम दो बाहरी परीक्षकों द्वारा शोधप्रबंध का मूल्यांकन; खुली मौखिक परीक्षा; पीएच.डी. कार्य से दो शोधपत्र, जिनमें कम से कम एक समीक्षित शोध-पत्रिका में प्रकाशित हो; तथा विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग / भारतीय सामाजिक विज्ञान अनुसंधान परिषद / वैज्ञानिक तथा औद्योगिक अनुसंधान परिषद या समान एजेंसी द्वारा प्रायोजित, वित्तपोषित या समर्थित सम्मेलनों / संगोष्ठियों में पीएच.डी. कार्य पर आधारित कम से कम दो पत्र प्रस्तुत किए हों। संबंधित विश्वविद्यालय के कुलसचिव अथवा अधिष्ठाता, शैक्षणिक मामले को इन शर्तों का प्रमाण देना होगा।
- अंकों में छूट: अनुसूचित जाति, अनुसूचित जनजाति, शारीरिक या दृष्टि दिव्यांग तथा अन्य पिछड़ा वर्ग की गैर-क्रीमी लेयर श्रेणी को स्नातक और स्नातकोत्तर स्तर पर 5% की छूट दी जा सकती है। केवल वास्तविक अर्हक अंक मान्य हैं; अनुग्रह अंक शामिल नहीं किए जाएंगे। 19-09-1991 से पहले स्नातकोत्तर उपाधि प्राप्त पीएच.डी. धारकों को 55% से 50% तक की छूट दी जा सकती है। मान्य समकक्ष ग्रेड भी स्वीकार्य है।

नियुक्ति और साक्षात्कार की शर्तें
- प्रारंभिक अवधि एक सेमेस्टर है; विस्तार विश्वविद्यालय की आवश्यकता और संतोषजनक कार्य पर निर्भर है। आवास, आधिकारिक परिवहन, अवकाश नकदीकरण और नियमित कर्मियों के भत्ते देय नहीं हैं। प्रति कैलेंडर वर्ष आठ दिन का अवकाश आनुपातिक आधार पर उपलब्ध है।
- पद संख्या अस्थायी है; विश्वविद्यालय चयन के समय इसे घटा या बढ़ा सकता है। साक्षात्कार में बदलाव या निरस्तीकरण का अधिकार विश्वविद्यालय के पास है।
- साक्षात्कार के लिए यात्रा भत्ता, दैनिक भत्ता या आवास नहीं दिया जाएगा। परिस्थितियों के अनुसार साक्षात्कार अगले दिन भी जारी रह सकता है।

Qualification Exemptions and Relaxation
- Under route A, the notification permits NET/SLET/SET exemption for a Ph.D. awarded in accordance with the UGC Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree Regulations, 2009 or 2016, and applicable amendments. NET/SLET/SET is also not required for Master's programmes in disciplines for which these examinations are not conducted by the stated agencies.
- For candidates registered for a Ph.D. before 11-07-2009, exemption requires all of the following: award through regular mode; thesis assessment by at least two external examiners; an open viva voce; two papers from the Ph.D. work, including at least one in a refereed journal; and presentation of at least two papers based on that work at conferences/seminars sponsored, funded or supported by UGC, ICSSR, CSIR or a similar agency. Compliance must be certified by the concerned university's Registrar or Dean of Academic Affairs.
- A 5% marks relaxation may be provided at graduate and Master's levels for SC, ST, physically/visually differently-abled and OBC non-creamy-layer candidates. Only qualifying marks count; grace marks are excluded. Ph.D. holders who obtained their Master's degree before 19-09-1991 may receive a reduction from 55% to 50%. Recognized equivalent grades are acceptable.

Engagement and Interview Conditions
- Initial tenure is one semester; extension depends on university need and satisfactory performance. Residential accommodation, official transport, leave encashment and regular-employee allowances are not admissible. Eight days' leave per calendar year is available pro rata.
- The advertised vacancy count is tentative and may be increased or decreased at selection. The university may modify or cancel the interview.
- No travel allowance, daily allowance or accommodation is provided for attending the interview. Proceedings may continue on the following day if circumstances require.
