Role Responsibilities
- Hire, grow and mentor the security team; own cloud/hybrid-network security architecture and its roadmap while balancing reliability, scale, speed and cost.
- Set secure defaults and guardrails across AWS accounts, organizations and future regions; use versioned, tested infrastructure-as-code and automation to enforce controls consistently.
- Own IAM, SSO/Identity Center, PAM, least-privilege and just-in-time access, secrets, encryption, KMS/HSM keys, certificates and data-protection standards.
- Harden Kubernetes/EKS, workloads and container images through runtime protection and automated patching; secure segmented VPCs, hybrid links, egress, firewalls, DNS, IDS/IPS and zero-trust access.
- Protect public services/APIs with DDoS controls, WAF, bot management and rate limits; harden CI/CD with OIDC short-lived credentials, SCA, image scans, SBOMs, artifact signatures and provenance.
- Use policy-as-code and admission controls to block unsafe configurations or artifacts; govern dependency vulnerabilities, licences and remediation SLAs.
- Measure security-control coverage, violations, exposure and remediation; detect configuration drift and work with Cybersecurity, AppSec, GRC and SOC on gaps and audits.
